Hey friends! My name is Jared Holmes and I am the Associate Pastor here at FBC. My main ministry area is serving as the Youth Pastor, but my duties also include overseeing the discipleship programs of the church.
I have been in ministry for many years, starting around the age of 16 as a volunteer in the church I grew up in, Calvary Baptist Church, in Odessa, Texas. I went on to become the Children’s Ministry intern at Life Change Baptist church in Odessa, Texas and served there until God called me to go to Dallas Baptist University. While at DBU, I served as a Children’s Ministry intern at the Oaks Baptist Church in Grand Prairie. I served at the Oaks Baptist church until God provided an opportunity to serve here in Bridgeport. I have served on staff at FBC Bridgeport since October of 2015.
I graduated from DBU in 2017 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biblical Studies. I pursued my Master of Arts in Christian Education degree with a focus in Administration at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, where I graduated in May of 2021. I received my Doctor of Ministry degree in Ministry Leadership, with a focus of Discipleship in the church, from Liberty University in August of 2025.
In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my wife Meredith, our son Oliver and our daughter Carolyn. I also love playing guitar, both acoustic and bass guitar, working out in the gym, and hanging out with my students playing different sports like basketball and football.
