Senior Adults
FBC is home to a vibrant senior adult contingency. Our senior adults are extremely active in the church and in serving our community. They support every other ministry within the church from Vacation Bible School to the food pantry and everywhere in between, providing wisdom and insight and manpower. The church offers several bible study options that are geared specifically to senior adults, and we encourage our senior adults to take what they learn and mentor younger Christians in their lives and marriages. No one knows how to have fun quite like our seniors who have regular gatherings for food and fellowship.
Single Senior Adults
God's Word is clear - the church is to care for its widows. As a result, the FBC Single Senior Adult ministry was born and extended to all senior adults who find themselves single, regardless of the reason. With this ministry, single senior adults are paired with families within the church. The families take care of physical, practical needs of the single seniors, and the single seniors commit to pray over the needs of the family. From this ministry, precious relationships have been developed between the generations of the church. There is no formal meeting time; rather, the ministry looks different for every family/senior adult pairing. Sometimes it's lunch together after church, or picking up groceries, or birthday cards and phone calls. Comfort Corner
Entering a season of singleness as a result of a spouse's passing is an incredibly difficult thing. Comfort Corner was created to give widows a support system of others in their same season of life. 2 Corinthians 1:4 tells us that the God comforts us so that we can comfort others in that same way in their time of need. Comfort Corner allows widows who have walked through the season longer to comfort those who find themselves newly single. This sweet fellowship meets every third Thursday from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm in the Family Life Center. Lunch is provided and the only agenda is to be together, talk, and support one another.
